Main Stage Productions

Here's everything you'd want to know about putting on a Main Stage production. (OK, almost everything.)

FIXME How does The Producer fit into all this? This position was added after most of the text appearing here was written.

FIXME Where does fundraising come into play? We can't start building until we have money and waiting until the last minute just creates a lot of stress. The money should be available by Design Meeting 3.

Pre-Production

Pre-production the crucial planning and preparatory stage before rehearsals officially begin. It involves script analysis, budgeting, scheduling, casting, and designing sets, costumes, lighting, and sound to establish the production’s artistic vision and technical needs. The more work that is done during this time, the easier the rest of the process will be.

Production / Rehearsals

Once auditions are complete, Production begins. During this phase, all tangible aspects of the show are created as the production prepares for tech week, dress week and ultimately opening night. This phase focuses on building design aspects, blocking, technical design and cues, music and choreography.
